Headway and Thompsons Solicitors launch Christmas card competition

Brain injury survivors who use art therapy as part of their rehabilitation are being given the opportunity to take part in a Christmas card design competition.

Thompsons Solicitors and Headway - the brain injury association - have launched a Christmas card competition, providing Headway members with the chance to showcase their artistic talent.

Headway is encouraging its Group and Branch members to submit a Christmas card design, with the best 12 being showcased at this year’s Way Ahead conference, which is also sponsored by Thompsons Solicitors. Conference delegates will be asked to vote for their favourite design and the winning design will be used as Thompsons Solicitors’ official Christmas card and sold across Headway groups and branches.

Samantha Hemsley, national head of the serious injury and clinical negligence teams at Thompsons Solicitors, said “We’ve worked alongside Headway for a number of years, and we’re delighted to be partnering on this new competition to celebrate the achievements of people with brain injuries.

“We know from our work with people with brain injuries, and their families, just how vital Headway is in providing an invaluable network of support. This competition is a celebration of art as a form of rehabilitation and a fantastic opportunity to promote the strength of brain injury survivors.”

Luke Griggs, director of communications at Headway, said: “We know that many Headway groups and branches encourage their members to take part in art therapy as a form of rehabilitation and self-expression. This competition provides us with the opportunity to highlight this creativity and we hope that lots of people will enter.”
