Headway is a haven

Q: Please tell us about your brain injury

A: "I had three brain haemorrhages in total, in February last year. The second one was life threatening. My family sat and waited while I underwent life threatening surgery to repair the damage."

Q: What message do you want to send to people through your creative work?

A: A new me. How I'm getting to know the new me, while saying goodbye to the old me. How difficult it all is.

Q: What does A New Me mean to you?

A: A new me is someone I'm needing to get to know as well as like.

It's hard moving on. A new me is someone who is relearning.

Q: Are you involved with a Headway group or branch?

A: Headway Glasgow. I go to the Monday and Wednesday drop in groups, and the Friday walking group. We have a monthly discussion group too.

They are a brilliant help. It is so good being with people who understand what you are going through.
