Kavita's tips for self...
Brain injury survivor, author and motivational speaker, Kavita Basi, is speaking of her experience of social distancing on her YouTube account.
In this video Kavita shares her thoughts on the importance of getting some exercise while maintaining social distancing:
Alongside getting out for a short walk each day, Kavita is doing other things to help keep her calm:
“Nature is a great tool to take away anxiety,” says Kavita.
“I also play calming music/jazz in the house which has really helped to keep me calm.
“Cooking is another great source of easy therapy. I have got my family involved too.”
Kavita knows how hard some brain injury survivors, particularly those who experience anxiety, may be finding the period of social distancing.
She says: “Try to stay calm and call a helpline – such as the Headway Helpline - if you cannot cope.
Reach out to family and friends to explain how you are feeling and how they can help you.
Kavita documents her life following brain injury on her website and Instagram account.
