I know there will be more proud moments to come.

A Q&A with brain injury survivor Alison Rockall.

What makes you happy?

My fiancé, Gary, my family and my friends and the support and love they give me.

What is your proudest moment?

I have lots of proud moments – things I couldn’t manage after my injury but I’m doing them now. I know there will be more proud moments to come.

Who in your life understands your brain injury the best?

Gary does. I now ask a lot of questions after my brain injury and don’t always understand things. Gary always makes things clear to me and answers all my questions.

What is the most frustrating thing about your brain injury?

When I struggle to do something that I could do before the injury.

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

Make every day a happy day.

Have there been any positives to come from your brain injury?

My taste has changed a lot and I’m eating new food now! And I can’t smell bad smells anymore which is a real positive.

What advice would you give to fellow brain injury survivors?

Stay strong and believe in yourself.
